India, April 3, 2019: Land Rover had revealed the second-generation Range Rover Evoque in the run up to the LA motor show in November, last year and expected to be launch in India in the second half of 2019. The new SUV is based on a new platform and is longer, wider and taller than its predecessor. It also features a new design that looks inspired by the Range Rover Velar.
Now in its second generation, the Range Rover Evoque sits on a new platform, which has been developed keeping electrification in mind, with all-wheel-drive variants getting a 48V mild-hybrid system - but it remains to be seen if the India-spec Evoque will get mild-hybrid tech, too.
New Evoque is offered with a range of Ingenium petrol and diesel engine options internationally, in India, the new Evoque is powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engines that makes 180PS of power and 430Nm of torque. The transmission is a ZF-sourced 9-speed automatic, along with all-wheel drive.
The interior of the all-new Evoque include a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, front and rear parking aid, 360-degree camera and an 825W, 10-speaker, Meridian sound system, among others.
For safety, the Evoque gets 7 airbags, ABS, EBD, dynamic stability control, traction control, roll stability control, all-terrain progress control, hill descent control and trailer stability assist.
The Range Rover Evoque is offered in three variants: SE, HSE and HSE Dynamic, and estimated priced between Rs 50.20 lakh and Rs 59.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India) and will rival the likes of the Mercedes-Benz GLC, Audi Q5 and Volvo XC60.
