India, March 23, 2019 : Porsche has revealed a coupe version of its bestselling offering, the Cayenne Coupe, it is being acclaimed as a performance-oriented offering in the SUV’s variant lineup, schedule to be launch in 2020. It will be available in two variants- a regular Cayenne Coupe and another with the Turbo suffix.
The Porsche Cayenne Coupe features a lower roofline that slants more towards the rear seating position 20mm compared to the standard Cayenne. A large 2.16 sq. m panoramic fixed glass roof as standard on the SUV.
The Cayenne Coupes acquire the same 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 found in the regular Cayenne that 335 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque. The Cayenne Turbo Coupe uses the 4.0-liter V8 engine with twin-turbo charging 541 bhp, and a maximum of torque of 770 Nm. Porsche makes the Sport Chrono package standard equipment on the Coupe — compared to an equivalent Cayenne, the 0-60 time for the Coupe is identical, assuming you opt for the lightweight sports package on the base model. The Turbo models are the same without any exceptions.
On the inside features, the Coupe is a strict four-seater, just like the X6. However, Porsche is also offering a bench layout at the back at no extra cost. The rear seats are lowered by 30mm, thus freeing up headroom in the raked roofline. The boot capacity is reduced to 625 litres (the Turbo is slightly less at 600 litres) but is still more than its direct rivals. The rest of the cabin remains more or less unchanged.
A base Cayenne costs $66,950, but the Cayenne Coupe starts at $76,550 after the $1,250 delivery fee for both. The Turbo Coupe goes up from $131,350, which is actually less of a premium than the base car is over its equivalent. It is a rival to the BMW X6 and Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe.
