India, March 19, 2019 : Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. will launch the new CBR650R sportsbike in the mid-2019. Booking has already been started for the 2019 CBR650R in India. The company mentions that the booking amount for the 2019 CBR 650R has been kept at Rs 15,000 across all the Honda Wing World dealerships located across 22 cities in India. It will take the place of the current CBR650F and will compete the likes of Kawasaki Ninja 650 in India.
Similar to the recently launched Honda CB 300R, the CBR 650R will be brought into the country through the CKD route. Most importantly, Honda also announced that the 2019 CBR 650R will be priced below Rs 8 lakh, ex-showroom.
2019 Honda CBR 650R will be powered by a 649cc liquid cooled, in line, four cylinder engine offering 95 bhp power at 12,000 rpm and 64 Nm torque at 8,500 rpm mated to a 6 speed gearbox with standard assist and slipper clutch.
Introduced at the EICMA 2018, the all-new CBR 650R will be powered by a 649cc liquid cooled, in line, four cylinder engine offering 95 bhp power at 12,000 rpm and 64 Nm torque at 8,500 rpm mated to a 6 speed gearbox . Compared to the CBR 650F, that is an increment of 5 per cent.
The 2019 Honda CBR 650R comes equipped with assist/slipper clutch and Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) that maintains rear wheel traction and can be switched off whenever needed. The chassis design too has been updated that made the overall bike lighter by 6kg. Suspension duties are handled by 41 mm Showa Separate Fork Function (SFF USD) at the front and a monoshock damper with adjustable preload and 43.5 mm of stroke at the rear.
It also gets a digital LCD display, handlebars clip-on below the top yoke and the instruments feature a gear position and shift up indicator. The Honda CBR 650R come with LED stoplamps and Emergency Stop Signal Technology, the system detects sudden braking and automatically activates the front and rear hazard lights, which flash to warn any nearby vehicles.
