India, March 11, 2019 : British automaker’s MG Hector will be the first SUV in the Indian market when it goes on sale by June 2019. The MG Hector rivals the Tata Harrier, Jeep Compass and the Mahindra XUV500.
The MG Hector will get an analogue+digital instrument cluster with a large 7-inch colour display. The 7-inch MID screen will display various vehicle stats, including TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System). MG Motor has already confirmed that the Hector will be powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine sourced from Fiat for this SUV. There will also be a 1.8 litre petrol engine on offer, but MG Motor is yet to disclose the details about it.
The Hector is expected to get a large 10.4-inch tablet-like touchscreen infotainment system along with features like inbuilt internet connectivity and a panoramic sunroof. Firstly, MG will launch the Hector in a 5-seater variant only. However, a 7-seater Hector is also expected to go on sale in India later.
Expect an official unveil by April 2019, and a price announcement by June 2019.
