India, January 7, 2019 : MG Motor will enter India by mid of this year with Baojun 530 5-seater SUV that’s reported to be re-engineered and launched as MG Gloster. However, the official name of the vehicle is yet to be announced by the carmaker. Reports suggest that 7-seater version of the SUV will also make its way to India. Recently, the Baojun 530 7-seater SUV launched in the Chinese market.
Dimensionally, the 7-seater Baojun 530 model are exactly similar to the 5-seater version. That means, the SUV measures 4655mm in length, 1835mm in width and 1760mm in height with a wheelbase of 2750mm. Though, MG might make some structural differences to improve its comfort. While the third-row seats look wide, the legroom could be congested.
The 7-seat MG SUV will rival the Mahindra XUV500 and Tata Hexa in India. It will rival the 7-seat Harrier, if launched in India. Due to its large dimensions and expected aggressive price, the MG SUV could even be a better alternative to more expensive SUVs like Honda CR-V.
