A great autorickshaw driver assaulted a 65-year-old man and expelled him in the face after he refused service on Wednesday in Andheri. The driver has busted soon after.
Laxman Aavhad, 65, was waiting for an autorickshaw at Sakinaka junction around noon on Wednesday. Despite failing to get an auto for a long time, the resident of Marol, Maroshi Road in Andheri (East), kept trying. This time, a 40-year-old auto new driver stopped but he also refused to ply. This kind of resulted in an argument between Aavhad and the new driver. The driver got distressed and kicked Aavhad hard, injuring him.
With the help of men and women present at the location who observed the altercation, Aavhad halted the driver from running. One of the passersby alerted the police and the driver was used to the police place. "We arrested the drivers on the same day he was handed over to us. He was produced before a city court that released him on bail, " said Avinash Dharmadikari, senior inspector at Sakinaka police stop.The accused driver was booked under parts of the Indian Penal Code for creating hurt and criminal intimidation and other relevant sections of the Automobiles Act.
