The all new Hyundai Verna 2020 is set to be launched in March this year

The all new Hyundai Verna 2020 is set to be launched in March this year

As per the sources close to Hyundai Motor India, they had confirmed that the carmaker will unveil the face-lifted Verna at Auto Expo 2020 however the Verna was not showcased at the Expo and may be unveiled in a separate event later in the year. Apart from a facelift, the new Verna gets 1.5-litre BS6 engine and new features.

Hyundai had previously revealed the Verna facelift in China. Cosmetic modifications include a trapezoidal grille, large headlamps, silver inserts, revised the front and rear bumpers and new sets of alloy wheels.

Inside, the sedan gets blacked-out interiors, a bigger touch-screen infotainment device and an all-digital device cluster. It is expected to get BS6-compliant 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines from the Kia Seltos in different states of tune, with the possibility of a slight hybrid power-train.

Expect the face-lifted sedan to release in India around March 2020 when the BS6 norms kick in. It is probably to be priced at a premium over its predecessor. Once launched, the Verna will continue to rival the likes of the Maruti Ciaz, the recently updated Toyota Yaris, Skoda Rapid and the Volkswagen Vento.
